Daniel Dubois has already beaten Anthony Joshua and next up for the revitalised heavyweight is Joseph Parker.

Dubois was highly rated from the first few times he stepped into the ring, but came unstuck when he faced Joe Joyce back in 2020. In the fight with the Olympic silver medalist he took heavy damage to an eye and was forced to take a knee and be counted out.

That along with another loss to Oleksandr Usyk, where he stayed down from a jab when physically exhausted, left many people questioning his mental toughness, but Dubois has rallied in impressive fashion. Wins over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic both saw him come through periods of sustained pressure to get KO victories of his own.

The second of the two fights saw him elevated to IBF world champion and he then defended his belt against former two-time world heavyweight ruler Joshua with another impressive knockout win in September.

Next up the power puncher takes a voluntary defence against former WBO belt holder Parker.

Speaking to BoxNation, the newly confident ‘DDD’ was asked to compare Parker to Joshua and he clearly rates AJ above his next foe.

“I think a lesser opponent but he’s still a good fighter and a veteran. He’s proved himself so it will be what I make it in the ring. I’m 100% confident.”

Parker is another man in form right now. He has put on some of his best performances in his last two fights and has beaten Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang in impressive fashion. The winner could well get an undisputed fight against current three-belt ruler Oleksandr Usyk.
