Daniel Dubois has said he has one simple goal for the next chapter of his boxing career.

Dubois is by now something of a young veteran. He is just 28-years-old, but has already had 25 fights since he decided against trying to get to the Summer Olympics of 2020 and instead turned professional in 2017 after a modest amateur career.

He won his fight eight bouts by KO, and after a points win over journeyman Kevin Johnson, got another six straight knockouts before being thrown in with Olympian Joe Joyce, who damaged ‘DDD’s eye socket and forced him to be counted out in the 10th round.

After that, many questioned his heart, given how he seemed happy to take the loss, though others argued that in light of his broken orbital bone, he was wise to save himself to fight another day.

And so it proved, because Dubois rallied after that and following a valiant loss to generational great Oleksandr Usyk, he stopped Jarrell Miller, Fillip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua on his way to becoming IBF world champion.

Another loss to Usyk last July saw him lose his belt as Usyk became a two-time undisputed champion.

Now, ahead of his return this year and speaking to iFL TV, Dubois was asked whether his main motivation in 2026 was to become a two-time world champion.

“That’s it, get that title back, that’s my mission for now.”

The obvious option would be a high with fellow Brit and Quensberry fighter Fabio Wardley, who is the WBO ruler and looking for some big fights of his own this year, though Dubois has also been called out by Zhilei Zhang.
