Daniel Dubois Targeting Heavyweight Who Will Fast Track Him Back To World Title

Daniel Dubois is keen to get back into world title contention when he makes his ring return.

The former IBF world heavyweight champion has not fought since August when he was stopped by Oleksandr Usyk for a second time. That put an end to a great run that saw the Brit knock out Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and then Anthony Joshua in fine fashion.

‘DDD’ has since changed coach and is now working with Tony Sims and Dubois’ manager Sam Jones explained the plan for his man to BoxNation.

“I’ve got a keen eye on it because Daniel Dubois, I think, could fight the winner of that fight [between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley]. He’s going to the fight, he’ll be a keen spectator of that fight.”

That fight is being built as an eliminator for Usyk’s WBO belt, though if that doesn’t come off it could present a chance for Dubois to muscle in on the action according to Jones.

“If Tyson Fury is coming back, that’s who [Usyk] will want to fight. That’s the money fight for Usyk, so whoever wins put themselves in a great position regardless cause if Usyk vacates his belt you’re looking at potentially the next WBO heavyweight champion of the world and a fight between them and Dubois is huge.”

Dubois might want an interim fight before going straight into a clash with the in form likes of Parker and Wardley, though has reportedly been offered an IBF final eliminator against Frank Sanchez in early 2026.
