Daniel Dubois will be hoping to get back to winning ways when he returns to the ring in 2026.
The young Brit has already had a hugely dramatic career that has seen him slowly but surely work his way to become the IBF world champion.,
After knocking out plenty of his first opponents, Dubois came unstuck against Joe Joyce in 2020 when he allowed himself to be counted out following sustained damage to his eye.
Many questioned his heart, but he battled back and challenged for the unified titles against Oleksandr Usyk in August 2023, though he was stopped inside nine rounds.
Dubois then put together the best run of his career with confidence-boosting knockouts of Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgoic, which saw him elevated to IBF champion before then knocking out Anthony Joshua in his first defence in September 2024.
Last time out in July, he was again undone by Usyk who became a two-time undisputed ruler, and since then has been out of the ring, though he has changed coaches and has vowed to be back, soon.
In a recent post on X, Dubois’ manager Sam Jones outlined who ‘DD’ is going after for his return.
“Yes he’s proposing a fight to Wardley or Kabayel.”
Fabio Wardley is the new WBO champion having been elevated in the wake of Usyk vacating, and is fresh off a KO win over Joseph Parker, while Agit Kabayel is also in form following wins over Arslan Makmuhdov, Frank Sánchez and Zhilei Zhang, so either men would pose a solid challenge for Dubious.
