Former world champion Duke McKenzie has offered his take on Conor Benn‘s upcoming fight with Regis Prograis.
Benn secured the best win of his career last time out in November 2025. Six months after his first fight with long-time family rival Chris Eubank Jr, which ended in a points loss, he secured a 12-round victory of his own despite being the naturally smaller man.
Since then, he has vowed that he wants to win a world title and has called out the likes of Rolly Romero and Ryan Garcia.
Instead, he has signed with Zuffa Boxing, which surprised many fans and has secured a fight with former champion Prograis on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s comeback fight against Arslanbek Makmuhdov.
Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, McKenzie laid out what Benn must do in this fight.
“That’s true to a degree – he’s the best-matched fighter we’ve seen in quite some time. They’ve done a great job with Conor Benn manoeuvring him and getting him to the position. He’s calling out every champion and his brother. The proof will be in the pudding finally, when he steps up and fights somebody of note.
“Regis Prograis doesn’t present him with that kind of challenge. He’s a career best 10 stone boy, this fight’s made at 150, which isn’t lightweight and isn’t welterweight, it’s in between. Conor Benn should roll over this guy quite comfortably if he’s serious about going on.
“He’s got to do out and do a job cause the world and his brother will be watching him. It’s his chance to go out and say I’ve got something.”
