Daniel Dubois and Oleander Usyk‘s rematch is just hours away and Eddie Hearn has had his final say on the outcome.
The two heavyweights will collide at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday, looking to crown another undisputed champion in the banner division.
Dubois has been waiting two years for the chance to get revenge on Usyk, ever since he was stopped off a stiff jab out in Poland in August 2023 when the pair first fought. That was not before ‘DDD’ made a good start and even had the Ukrainian on the canvas, but the attempted body shot that put him there was ruled low.
The Brit has improved considerably since then, and also grown in confidence, with three huge wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua back in September 2024.
As for Usyk, he claimed two victories over Tyson Fury in 2024, to go alongside wins over the likes of Joshua, Derek Chisora and Tony Bellew during his career.
Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Matchroom Boxing promoter Hearn sided with the Ukrainian and predicted a KO.
“When you’ve got Dubois screaming in Usyk’s face, Usyk just looks so cold, so cold. It lends me to really favour him in this fight.
“I’m always picking Usyk, but I really feel like Dubois is a threat, he’s a huge puncher, he’s got great confidence. But then when you see Usyk in those situations [like the face-off] he’s just so cold, not just cold, he’s just so good, and I think he’ll stop him, he’ll stop him late, like last time. Maybe a little bit later. I think Daniel is a threat in the fight and I think he’s got a shot.”
Dubois was elevated to IBF champion after the Hrgovic win and now has a shot at becoming undisputed should be beat Usyk. If it is the Ukrainian who wins, he will become the first man in history to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight ruler in the four-belt era.
