Eddie Hearn Predicts Oleksandr Usyk vs Prime Evander Holyfield: “I Can’t See Him Losing”

Eddie Hearn has given his view on what might have happened if Oleksandr Usyk and Evander Holyfield ever got it on in the ring.

Holyfield is a legend of the game who achieved the rare feat of being an undisputed cruiserweight champion turned undisputed world heavyweight ruler.

He fought the likes of Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Riddick Bowe before retiring with a record of 29 knockout wins from 44 victories out of 57 fights.

The comparisons with Usyk are obvious as the Ukrainian was also an undisputed cruiserweight who moved up to heavyweight and has now become a two-time undisputed ruler in the banner division.

Along the way, he has twice beaten Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois to stake his claim as one of the greatest ever.

Speaking to SeeHendo, Matchroom promoter Hearn broke down how he thinks the fight would go.

“Holyfield is one of my favourite fighters, and I always said when he was cruiserweight, Usyk against Holyfield at cruiserweight, I just can’t see [Usyk] losing.

“Even Holyfield, saying he’s nothing special is harsh, cause he was very special but just style-wise and what he does with his feet, Holyfield was just so tough, come forward, granite chin, non-stop output, but Usyk is just like break you down, touch, touch, move.”

Right now, Usyk is biding his time on the sidelines before announcing his next fight. His mandatory challenger is the WBO’s Joseph Parker, though Parker has a fight scheduled with Fabio Wardley in October, while Jake Paul has also been mentioned as a possible, if unlikely opponent.
