Eddie Hearn has had his say on the potential fight between Daniel Dubois and Derek Chisora.

Popular London heavyweight Chisora has long since planned to bow out of the sport after his 50th fight. Last time out in his 49th he stopped Otto Wallin having previously shared the ring with everyone from Tyson Fury to Joseph Parker, Joe Joyce and Dillian Whyte.

Although Chisora has never won a world title, he has always been in hugely entertaining fights and it could well prove that his last contest is against current IBF champion Dubois.

‘DDD’ hasn’t fought since September when he knocked out former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua, and in the previous year, he also stopped Fillip Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller to make himself one of the division’s form men.

He will now be ordered to face Chisora as his next mandatory defence having pulled out of his voluntary defence with Parker back in February due to falling ill.

Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn has been asked about Chisora potentially facing Dubois and isn’t too keen on it, stylistically.

“He’s fought for the world title before hasn’t he, twice. It’s not a good fight for him, Daniel Dubois, it’s not a fight I want to see, but it’s his career, if he’s earned it and been called for it, it’s not his fault.

“It’s just the style. There’s certain styles in ‘Del Boy’s career that are good for him, some are bad for him, and Dubois is one that is bad one for him. But ‘Del Boy’ is a legend.”

For his part, Dubois’ team would much rather he take a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk having lost the first time in August 2023, although this time it would be for undisputed heavyweight status. The young heavyweight has also expressed an interest in rescheduling the Parker bout.
