Eddie Hearn has revealed exactly what was said in a heated ringside exchange between himself and Devin Haney.
Haney was once part of the Matchroom stable and became world champion under Hearn’s guidance back in 2019. The two parted ways so Haney could pursue an undisputed fight against George Kambosos Jr with Top Rank.
Since then the relationship has publicly soured, particularly before Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight fight against Daniel Dubois this past weekend. The American took to twitter to blast Hearn for being ‘fake’ for refusing to get him tickets for the event.
“Wow I’m n London.. Eddie Hearn won’t give me tickets to the fight but keep mentioning me every chance he get… Eddie the fakest ***** I ever met bro.”

Hearn responded with his version of events and called his former fighter ‘arrogant’.
“You asked me at 6AM this morning. First I look after my fighters. Ask someone else and drop the arrogance.”

The former two-weight champion did manage to gain entry and was seen having a ‘heated’ row with the Matchroom head.
Eddie Hearn on his confrontation with Devin Haney at Joshua-Dubois: "I pulled him at the show and said 'what do you think you're doing? 1. You couldn't be more arrogant, 2. Why are you not just messaging me? You put a tweet out? You're like a little kid… Anyway, you'll be able… pic.twitter.com/9lSQtukn3E

In an interview with Boxing News, Hearn described what caused the twitter outburst.
“It was heated. Bear in mind the relationship I’ve got with Devin, bear in mind everything we’ve been through, I could not believe he would put that out on social media.
I received a message from him at 6AM on the day of the fight saying ‘I need tickets for Joshua’. He messaged 24 hours before saying ‘yo’ but I had so much going on I didn’t reply. When I replied on Friday night, he messaged me back Saturday morning asking for tickets.
Firstly, all of the inner ringside tickets were pre-assigned with ‘His Excellency’ and all those people, plus we had months’ notice with our fighters who put in requests that we’d sorted out. So at that point we just don’t have the tickets. So I said ‘it’s not solely our show, we’re just working on the event, you may have to ask Riyadh Season for the tickets’. I got no reply.
So then I’m sitting there at the show and he’s like ‘Wow, Eddie Hearn didn’t get me tickets, he’s so two-faced’. So I just replied saying ‘you’re an arrogant f**king prick’.”
Hearn then went on to tell exactly what was said between the pair at ringside.
‘I pulled him at the show and said ‘what do you think you’re doing?’ He said ‘hey hey’, and I said ‘no, not hey hey… what are you doing?’
I said: ‘one, you couldn’t be more arrogant, two, why aren’t you messaging me asking if I’m sure I can’t sort something out? Instead you put a Tweet out? You’re like a little kid, you used to be a good kid you did, now I don’t like this arrogance I’m seeing from you. Don’t ever do that again’.
He said that I’d said something about him in the media but I was just answering a question. I don’t represent him, so if I get asked about Devin Haney I’m going to tell you what I think. I’ve never said anything disrespectful but I said ‘you have, so don’t ever disrespect me again’. I had the hump about it. I just told him straight.”
Haney is yet to respond.
