Jaron Ennis could be about to announce a three-belt light middleweight unification fight with a British fighter this autumn.
Ennis is a former IBF and WBA welterweight champion who has beaten the likes of David Avanesyan and Sergey Lipinets and moved up a division in October last year.
He first beat Uisma Lima for an interim strap before then fighting Xander Zayas in June. He won by 7th-round knockout and claimed the WBA and WBO titles in a thrilling seven-round contest at Brooklyn’s Barclays Centre.
The highly rated Philadelphia fighter is now 29 years old and has won 36 of his 37 fights, with one no contest and 32 knockouts, so he carries power in both hands. He has previously been linked with a fight with Ryan Garcia, but it now seems as though attention has moved elsewhere.
In a new post on X from Ring Magazine, news has emerged that Sunderland star Josh Kelly could be next in line for Boots later this year, with both men promoted by Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn.

Kelly claimed his maiden world title in January when he beat Bakhram Murtazaliev over 12 rounds and then defended the IBF strap against Caoimhin Agyarko on the Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga undercard in July.
‘Boots’ would represent a huge step up for Kelly, who fought with a bloodied face for much of his last contest and had to have stitches and minor corrective surgery on a broken nose after the fight.
