Former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr has issued an important update ahead of his return to boxing.
Spence was outclassed by Crawford at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas before he was stopped in the 9th round, falling short in his attempt at becoming the undisputed welterweight champion.
‘The Truth’ had reportedly been on the verge of finalising his long-awaited comeback to the sport on multiple occasions during 2025, but no talks came to fruition.
In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Spence said he is enjoying the time he is spending with his family.
“I don’t know. I might come back, we’ll see. I get offered stuff all the time. Fights, shoes. I don’t know, we’ll see. It’s not vacation time, I’m taking care of my family. Like, I be with my kids. My son plays sports, my two girls play sports, you know I’ll be with my family, be with my fiance, my mom, my dad, travelling the world. You know, just enjoying life. You know.”
Spence then sent a final message to fans:
“I’ll come back whenever I’m ready.”
Should Spence go on to make a return to the ring, it is expected that the 35-year-old will campaign at 154lbs and could be interested in a potential clash with one of the reigning champions, including WBC king Sebastian Fundora. He has also been called out by Vergil Ortiz Jr.
