Terence Crawford and Floyd Mayweather are two of the best fighters of the past 20 years,
Crawford is a four-weight world champion who won the WBA super-welterweight title in his last fight, having also held world honours at lightweight, super-lightweight and welterweight.
His reigns at 140lbs and 147lbs also saw him become undisputed in those divisions, helping to establish himself as one of the best current pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
Mayweather is another pound-for-pound great, becoming a five-division world champion from super-featherweight to super-welterweight.
He has been involved in some of the biggest fights the sport has ever seen, and retired with an undefeated record of 50-0 back in 2017.
Errol Spence Jr knows first hand just how good both men are, after losing to Crawford in that undisputed welterweight title bout in 2023, and having also sparred Mayweather, and he revealed to Fighthype that Mayweather is the better of the two.
“It’s a big difference. Floyd is just different. I feel like he’s the best fighter… I don’t know about all time, he might be the best fighter of all time and if not he’s close. Two or three, not by far.
There’s different things that Floyd does. He was a lot older when I sparred him and there are just certain things he does that are real tricky. We’d get in the clinch and he was like squeezing my nose so I couldn’t breathe and stuff like that. Veteran, all-time type stuff. Mentally, by far I feel like he’s the best.”
