Errol Spence is the latest boxer to weigh in with a view about Chris Eubank Jr’s fight with Conor Benn.
This is a contest that has got the whole world talking. It is a generational rivalry that started decades ago when both men’s fathers fought in some hellacious battles.
As such they have long been on a collision course and almost came to blows in October 2022, but that fight was pulled when Benn tested positive for banned substances. Since then he has protested his innocence and was cleared to fight late in 2024.
Eubank Jr has stayed active, losing to Liam Smith by knockout then winning by the same method in the rematch six months later, and also getting another KO win under his belt last October.
It is now just weeks away from the pair meeting in the ring at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on 26 April.
When asked by a fan on X who would come out on top in this fight, former unified welterweight world champion Spence was decisive in his answer.
“Eubank.”
Benn is the naturally smaller man and is coming up two weight classes to meet Eubank Jr at 168 lbs, so many wonder whether he will be able to carry the power he showed lower down the weights in his early career.
