Chris Eubank Jr. is targeting a ring return sooner rather than later.

Eubank has not fought since November, when he was knocked down twice and then beaten soundly on points by his long-time rival Conor Benn, who has shocked the boxing world by changing promoters.

That fight was six months after the first, in which it was Eubank who dominated and got the win, with many putting his poor form in the rematch down to being weight drained.

After the fight, Eubank shared a video of himself in the hospital and revealed he had been fighting some health issues and he vowed to return stronger than ever.

Speaking to Seconds Out, his manager Napper gave an update on when that might be.

“He’ll get to fight like September, October, November, around those type of times. He’s expecting kids right now. He’s about to be a father, so let him be a father for a few months.

“He’s in the gym still, I’m dragging him to the gym with me in Dubai. Even without me there he’s in the gym everyday anyway. I can tell he wants to fight again.

“He just needs to make sure when he comes back he’s 100%. He doesn’t want to perform not at his best. He wants to show everyone that him at his best is still a live opponent, still one of the best fighters in his division out there.”

Eubank has fought down at light middleweight but as high as super middleweight, which is where he would likely have to return to be at his healthiest and strongest, given he is 37 later this year.
