Chris Eubank Jr. is gearing up for his rematch with Conor Benn.

This week was the first press conference to promote the fight, which takes place in November, though little hype is needed this time around.

The first fight was preceded by plenty of it, as well as controversy around failed drug tests, egg slaps and lots of heated exchanges.

The fight, however, was a classic, with both men going at it hard from the first to the last bell. It was eventually Eubank, the bigger, more experienced fighter, who came out on top with a unanimous points decision.

After many months of not speaking with his father, who had concerns over the contest and the weight loss it involved, both men appeared at the fight in the same car, much to the delight of onlookers.

Speaking to iFL TV, Eubank Jr was asked if there had ever been discussions of his father being at the press conference to promote the rematch.

“No, I deal with these baboons just fine by myself. He knows I don’t need any extra help. He will be there when it counts, not to sit there to listen to these guys lie to the public for an hour.

Eubank Jr was then asked if his father would be involved in his son’s training camp, which he will not, before revealing he will be at the event.

“My old man hasn’t been a part of my life in terms of my boxing career for many years now, especially in terms of my preparation for fights, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. But we are rebuilding, he will be at the fight this time.”

Eubank will again be hampered by a rehydration clause on the day of the fight, which prevents him from putting on more than 10lbs from the previous day’s 168lb limit.
