Chris Eubank Jr Praises ‘One Of The Baddest Men In Boxing’ After 32nd KO Win

Chris Eubank Jr. has given his view on who he thinks is one of boxing’s best current talents.

Eubank Jr is spending time out of the ring following the birth of his twins earlier in the year. He was last in action back in November when he was put down twice and soundly beaten over 12 rounds by his long-term generational rival Conor Benn, just six months after dishing out the same fate himself and taking a win in their first match.

Many suspect Eubank Jr was weight drained, having been down at 160lbs and limited to a 10lb rehydration clause. Although he has since said he plans to return to boxing, there has been no official announcement of a fight date.

In the meantime, he continues to watch from afar and speaking on X, Eubank was full of praise for American Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, who unified the WBA and WBO super-welterweight titles by beating Xander Zayas and became a two-division world champion over the weekend.

“Zayas had some real heart tonight… a lot of credit to that young man… so many fighters these days give up when they are hurt or in tough fights… he stood his ground & took his licks like a man… still a big future ahead of that kid. But for right now it’s Boots’s time… hell of a performance… one of the baddest men in boxing right now.

Zayas entered the fight unbeaten with 23 wins behind him and, although he put up a tough fight, he was put down three times and eventually stopped in the seventh round.

Ennis moved up from welterweight last year and picked up an interim title at super-welterweight before now making his mark in the division, where he will likely look to unify another belt or take on fellow unbeaten American, Vergil Ortiz Jr.
