Chris Eubank Jr received a hefty fine for his actions during the launch press conference with Conor Benn.
Eubank Jr and Benn will meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on April 26, over two years after they were initially set to meet.
Their original planned date of October 2022 was cancelled on fight week after it came to light that Benn had failed a drugs test, with a long drawn out saga following involving Benn, the British Boxing Board of Control and UK Anti-Doping.
In the beginning of the ordeal, one of the proposed reasons for why Benn failed the test was due to the consumption of too many eggs, something that his rival seemingly didn’t agree with.
During the face-off to officially announced their rescheduled meeting, Eubank Jr smashed an egg over Benn’s head, leading to a huge fracas on stage which also saw Conor’s father Nigel Benn put his hands around the throat of Eubank Jr.
It was revealed this week that Eubank Jr will have to pay a big sum for his actions, after the British Boxing Board of Control fined him £100,000.
He has now taken to social media to react to the fine, needing just three words to sum up his feelings.
“Worth every penny.”
It is just over a month until the two men will finally step into the ring together, and one man who previously fought Eubank Jr has now shared his thoughts on the bout, with former world champion George Groves delivering his verdict.
