Chris Eubank Jr. is already looking beyond his fight with Conor Benn.

Eubank and Benn have been on a collision course since October 2022 when they were first due to fight. That contest was canned late in the day after Benn tested positive for banned substances and Eubank Jr went on to fight Liam Smith twice in 2023, losing by KO at first, then winning by KO in the rematch.

Benn was finally free to fight again late last year and this contest was soon set up for April 26. Benn is the naturally smaller man and goes into the fight with much less experience than Eubank who has fought legitimate world champions up at super middleweight.

Eubank, however, will be limited by a rehydration clause that allows him only to put on 10lb more after the weight in on the morning of the fight.

So confident is he of victory that he is already talking to The Ring Magazine about where he will look to go next, and that is into a showdown with undisputed super middleweight ruler Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez.

“I do think that is a next logical fight and this fight, Turki is saying, can put me in a position to get in the ring with ‘Canelo’ which would be amazing.”

However, he admitted that the fight with Benn is probably a bigger deal in the UK.

“This is a fight that the fans are demanding. They have been demanding it for years. This fight is bigger than boxing. It’s mainstream in the UK.”

For now, Canelo has his hands full with William Scull who he fights on May 3rd, and assuming he comes through that, two-weight undisputed champion Terrence Crawford is next in September, so Eubank may have to wait his turn.
