Chris Eubank Jr has shared his thoughts on the power of Conor Benn after he was defeated handily in their second encounter.

Benn put on an outstanding display against his generational rival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, getting the nod on all three of the judges scorecards.

Eubank was saved by the bell in the final round of the middleweight bout after he hit the canvas twice in the last few seconds. Many viewers expressed their disappointment at the 36-year-old’s underwhelming performance – a far sight from his gritty win when they met back in April for the first fight.

Speaking just moments after the result was announced, Eubank said the ‘best man won’ and offered rare praise to Benn: “He’s got power this kid.”

“I’ve been through hell and back to get to this night. It is what it is. I tried my best. The kid fought hard, he fought tough. He’s got power this kid. He was bigger than me on the scales, I don’t know how he did it. We put on a show. Conor Benn was the best man tonight so congratulations to him.”

It’s a night that will live long in the memory of the Benn family, who have been waiting decades to score a win over the Eubanks.

Benn has already confirmed that he intends to drop back down to welterweight ahead of his next bout, as he sets his sights on securing himself an opportunity to fight for a world title at 147lbs. Where Eubank goes next remains to be seen.
