Chris Eubank Sr has always been open and honest about his son’s fights with long-time rival Conor Benn.

Eubank Sr was outspoken in the lead up to the first fight back in April. He believed the weight difference between the two men was potentially dangerous and fell out with his son over the matter, only to reunite on the evening of the contest.

It turned out to be a hugely entertaining 12-round war in which both men came forward and threw plenty of shots. As the naturally bigger and more experienced man, it was Eubank Jr who imposed himself and took a unanimous points win.

Now, the pair do it all again in November and speaking on his own YouTube channel, Eubank Sr was asked whether age could be a factor in the rematch.

“It could be. It depends on the life that Jr has been living. If you’ve been burning the candle at the wrong end then it will show up in the fight. If he’s been strict with himself, then he could be OK.”

Eubank Jr has had 38 fights and is 36 years old, while Benn is just 29 and has had 24 fights, so what he lacks in experience, he could make up in energy.

Weight will likely again be a bigger factor with Eubank, who has fought as high as super-middleweight in world title fights, boiling down and restricted by a rehydration clause that limits him to adding no more than 10lbs on the day of the fight, while Benn will be competing above his more natural welterweight limit.
