The fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis is in major jeopardy.

WBA lightweight champion Davis was scheduled to take on YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul in a 10-round exhibition bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida on Friday 14 November, in the latest major boxing event to be streamed live on Netflix.

With less than two weeks to go until the planned contest, the bout could be on the brink of being cancelled though, after Paul’s promotional company MVP announced they have launched an internal investigation after a new civil lawsuit was filed against Davis.

A number of opponents have reportedly been approached about potentially replacing ‘Tank’ in the bout, and it seems that a former world heavyweight champion would be ready and willing to step in.

Speaking to IFL TV, promoter Eddie Hearn revealed what Anthony Joshua told him after asking if he would be open to taking on Paul.

“Just let me know where.”

Joshua is a former two-time unified world heavyweight champion, but hasn’t fought since back in September 2024, when he suffered a fifth round stoppage defeat to Daniel Dubois.

Despite the vast difference in experience level, Joshua and Paul have been linked to a bout between one another for a number of months, and at one stage it seemed that it could be on the verge of being agreed.

It wasn’t to be, with ‘The Problem Child’ instead opting for the clash with Davis, but with it looking increasingly likely that it now won’t go ahead, the showdown with Joshua could be back on the table.
