A former world champion has backed himself to become the first man to defeat pound-for-pound star Shakur Stevenson.
Stevenson wrote his name into the boxing history books last weekend when he defeated Teofimo Lopez to capture the WBO super-lightweight title and become the fastest four-weight world champion of all time.
The 28-year-old from Newark dominated ‘The Takeover’ at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City to once again establish himself as one of the best active fighters on the planet.
Whilst many fans and analysts consider Stevenson to be a future all-time-great, there is one man in particular that believes he can become the first fighter to defeat the unbeaten American star in a bold claim.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, O’Shaquie Foster made no mistake in backing himself to beat Stevenson as he claims he wants to ‘humble’ his countryman for recent comments he has made on social media.
“He goofy. Like I swear if I can fight this dude tomorrow, whenever, like we will get it in. Like no questions, no nothing. By the end of my career, that’s who I need to put hands on. That’s Shakur for sure.
“The friendly coming in my inbox, trying to be friendly but playing both sides with me and Savage, just a lot, then he play like he’s so good, better than everybody. Talking about how much money he make and talking about like this and that, you know what I mean?
“Like even after the fight, the fans was asking for the fight. Well he go on Instagram talking about ‘I make this amount, oh go starve’ and all that like goofy s**t so I want to humble him. I’m gonna show him.”
Foster, who previously held the WBC super-featherweight title, was last in action back in December when he defeated Stephen Fulton via unanimous decision to capture the vacant WBC ‘interim’ world lightweight title at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.
