Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul is now just a week away.

The controversial match-up is nearly upon is, taking place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday 15 November and broadcast live around the world on Netflix.

It sees the legendary Tyson have his first professional fight for nearly two decades, going up against Youtuber-turned-boxer Paul, who at 27-years-old is over 30 years younger than ‘Iron Mike.’

During the latter stages of Tyson’s career, he had Freddie Roach in his corner for a couple of fights, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxing trainers of all time.

Roach has seen Paul spar in the past at his Wild Card Gym, and he needed just three words to sum up Paul’s boxing ability when talking to Fighthype.

“The kid’s okay.”

Roach then elaborated further on his brief meeting with Paul.

“You know, a club fighter, I don’t know. I’ve never really met him. He was in my gym and they wanted to work, use the ring. Okay, go ahead.”

When talking more recently to KO Artist Sports, Roach then gave his prediction for how he sees the Tyson vs. Paul fight going.

“I trained Tyson. I like Mike a lot. He does come by my gym once in a while to say hello and visit and stuff. All of a sudden this fight’s coming up against a younger, maybe stronger man.

“Well I can’t say stronger cause Tyson’s very strong. But the last two fights I trained him for he didn’t do that well. I hope he does well because he’s a good friend of mine.”

One of Tyson’s former promoters has also weighed in on the upcoming bout, describing it as a ‘car crash.’
