Former Mike Tyson Trainer Ronnie Shields Has No Doubt Who Is Getting Knocked Out In Jake Paul Fight

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul‘s eight-round contest is one week away.

This unlikely coming together pits a former heavyweight world champion and man who still holds the record for being the youngest ever fighter to lift a world title against someone who is less than half his age with just 11 professional fights.

27-year-old Paul has had just 10 victories inside the ring and has taken one loss against fellow prospect Tommy Fury. He has largely fought mixed martial artists or those with very little boxing experience.

Tyson of course had one of the most storied careers in the sport having fought legends like Frank Bruno, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis.

They enter the ring on November 15 and will contest eight two-minute rounds under professional rules in Texas, and it will be Tyson’s first such fight in 20 years since he retired after back-to-back defeats.

Speaking to FigthHype, Tyson’s former trainer Ronnie Shields, who was in his corner against Lewis, was asked about the fight.

“It is what it is, Mike is a fighter, Jake Paul wants to be a fighter. Mike is always training. You’re always seeing videos of him working out, so why not.”

He was then asked how he saw the fight playing out.

“Well, it can go two ways, Mike knows the sport. He’s been in it his whole life so he knows how to pace himself and go eight two-minute rounds. Jake Paul hasn’t been in that position yet, especially against a strong fighter like Mike. The pressure’s going to be more on Jake Paul.”

He was then asked if Tyson would win, and by knockout, and didn’t hesitate to answer.

“Absolutely.”

Shields is not the only former Tyson coach giving his prediction for the fight after Freddie Roach was also asked recently.
