A former undisputed world champion looks set to call out the winner of the upcoming clash between Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson.
Lopez will make the fourth defence of his WBO world super-lightweight title against Stevenson at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday night.
The American duo have treated fans to an entertaining build-up to what could prove to be one of the most exciting match-ups of 2026 and one that has captured the attention of fans and analysts around the planet.
Reigning WBC lightweight champion Stevenson is bidding to become a world champion in a fourth weight class having already captured world honours at featherweight, super-featherweight and lightweight.
As for Lopez, the Brooklyn-native finds himself on an impressive run of six straight victories since suffering the first defeat of his career to Australia’s George Kambosos Jr back in November of 2021.
One fighter that is said to be interested in a potential future clash with both Lopez and Stevenson is newly-crowned WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney.
In footage shared by Fight Hype, Haney’s father Bill confirmed that the former undisputed lightweight champion is set to be in attendance for Saturday nights showdown between his countrymen as he claims both Lopez and Stevenson are ‘on Haney’s list’.
“Breaking news. The world is cold, New York is cold. It just got colder. Shakur Stevenson versus Teofimo Lopez. Saturday night in The Garden is a hell of a fight.. Turki Alalshikh, the commissioner of boxing, the true commissioner of boxing that has dispelled any narratives that the big fights couldn’t happen, has did the unthinkable and brought in Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney for the live fight broadcast. And both of you is on the list.”
Haney made his return to action back in November as he comprehensively outpointed Brian Norman Jr to capture the WBO world welterweight title at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
