There are just hours to go until Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn weigh in for their fight this weekend.
This contest has been a long time in the making. Not only are both men the sons of legendary fighters who had a rivalry of their own some 30-odd years ago, but the personal animosity between the two has been building for almost three years.
They were due to first meet in October 2022, but Benn’s failure of a drug test, revealed during fight week, saw that canned. When his provisional suspension to fight in the UK was lifted late last year, the contest was back on the table and will finally play out at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.
The middleweight limit of 160 pounds is natural for Eubank, who has also fought up at 168. Benn will be coming up two weights from his preferred 147 – though he has competed at 154 more recently – and taking on someone much more experienced.
Ahead of the fight, both men arrived in London, and the natural difference in their size has already shocked fans.

One fan declared the fight an uneven contest and compared it to when super-middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez moved up to face light heavyweight ruler Dmitry Bivol in 2022, saying, “total mismatch. Canelo vs Bivol all over again.”
Another concurred, stating, “he fights at a bigger weight, huge mismatch!” while a third repeated it is a “natural middleweight vs natural welterweight.”
The weight discussion has dominated people’s thinking when making predictions, with many siding with Eubank for that reason alone. It means Benn, many feel, has to get the job done early before the weight really begins to come into play.
Meanwhile, Eubank’s father Chris Eubank Sr has said that the contracted weight ‘breaks the rules’ of the sport and is once again convinced that the fight will not go ahead.
