Three-weight world champion Shakur Stevenson is just days away from making his much-anticipated return to the ring.
The 28-year-old from Newark is set to challenge countryman Teofimo Lopez for the WBO world super-lightweight title at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday night.
Stevenson was last in action back in July when he produced a career-best performance in a unanimous decision victory against Mexico’s William Zepeda to make the third defence of his WBC lightweight title at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York.
As he bids to become a world champion in a fourth weight division, Stevenson has been working hard behind the scenes and will be keen on defeating Lopez in impressive fashion when they finally clash on Saturday.
In footage shared by The Ring Magazine, Stevenson can be seen shadow boxing just days away from his showdown with Lopez as a number of fans commend the unbeaten star on his transformed physique.
“Let’s go shakur looking in great shape”
“HE IS READY. LETS GOOOO”
“Let’s go Shakur The Brick City Kid!! We hit Hard”
“I thought Shakur said he was small? He looks like he should be fighting at 147 in this video”
Whilst he has received criticism for his choice of opponents in recent years, Stevenson could finally establish himself as one of the best fighters on the planet pound-for-pound should he topple Lopez in what is undoubtedly the toughest test of his professional career to date, with Lopez looking to shatter those dreams on Saturday.
