Two-time unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is just weeks away from making his long-awaited return to the ring.
The 36-year-old from Watford is set to lock horns with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on Friday December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, with the event broadcast live on Netflix.
Joshua has been out of action since he suffered the fourth defeat of his career to former IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in in London September 2024.
He has spent the majority of this year recovering from an injury that he sustained to his elbow, but it appears the 36-year-old is now ready to make his much-anticipated comeback, albeit against ‘The Problem Child’.
With his showdown against Paul just several weeks away, Joshua has shared a photo on social media showing his current physique after it was revealed that the contract states he must weigh no more than 245lbs on fight night.

The more they’re gonna love me. pic.twitter.com/oyPX2cvzJT— Anthony Joshua (@anthonyjoshua) November 25, 2025
A number of fans have reacted to seeing this photo, with many seemingly impressed with Joshua’s current condition and thinking it could spell trouble for Paul.
“He’s back”
“Looking Beast”
“Jees hes ripped up”
“Knockout incoming in round 2”
Whilst there had initially been some speculation that Joshua’s controversial showdown with Paul would be an exhibition, it has now been confirmed by Most Valuable Promotions that the bout will be a sanctioned professional fight and will require both men to wear regulation 10oz gloves on fight night, a decision that ‘The Problem Child’ may come to regret.
