Errol Spence Jr‘s long-awaited return to the ring is expected to be made official very soon.

The former unified world welterweight champion has been inactive since he suffered the first defeat of his professional career to the recently retired Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford back in July of 2023.

He had been in line to make his highly-anticipated comeback to the sport in 2025 but this did not come to fruition after a showdown with reigning WBC world super-welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora could not be made.

As reported on the Inside The Ring Show this week, Spence will finally return to action this summer in a non-title bout against former WBO super-welterweight champion Tim Tszyu, with an official announcement expected to be made in due course.

Boxing fans have been reacting to the news of Spence’s return to the ring on social media, although many believe ‘The Truth’ could be making a mistake in facing Tszyu after such a lengthy period away from the sport.

“This a nasty fight for both parties man both guys are finished”

“Tsyzu might cook Errol it’s been 3 years he might not mentally be there after that whooping by Crawford”

“Now this surprised me. As a Spence Jr fan just hope it isn’t to late for him”

“Tim Tszyu is about to retire Spence. I do wish he took another tune up however it could end up being one depending on how Spence looks.”

Tszyu’s last ring appearance came in December when he defeated Anthony Velazquez via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their 10-round bout in Sydney, Australia.

Should Spence be victorious over Tszyu later this year, the 35-year-old is expected to make one final push towards becoming a world champion and making up for the several years that he spent away from boxing.
