A former unified world heavyweight champion has predicted the outcome of the controversial match-up between Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul.
Unbeaten WBA lightweight champion ‘Tank’ Davis will make his return to the ring against ‘The Problem Child’ in a ten round exhibition clash at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday November 14.
It was originally expected that Davis would face countryman Lamont Roach Jr in their much anticipated rematch next, but these plans were shelved after ‘Tank’ instead opted for the exhibition clash with Paul.
Paul made his latest ring appearance back in June as he defeated former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their cruiserweight bout in California.
One man who has now weighed in on the clash between ‘Tank’ and Paul is Hasim Rahman, who caused one of the biggest upset victories ever against Lennox Lewis back in 2001. ‘The Rock’ was a 20/1 underdog but stopped Lewis inside five rounds to become heavyweight champion of the world.
Speaking on B4 Champ, Rahman believes ‘Tank’ Davis is capable of defeating Paul via knockout when they clash next month.
“I think Tank gonna knock him out.
“So I’m just telling you, don’t be surprised if Jake lands flat out.”
It was revealed in a press conference by Most Valuable Promotions’ CEO Nakisa Bidarian last month that the controversial bout between Davis and Paul would have a maximum weight limit of 195lbs in place for both fighters, who will wear 12oz gloves on fight night.
