Fighter Who Faced Teofimo Lopez Makes Huge Prediction For Shakur Stevenson Fight: “He Wins Easily”

Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson appear to be on a collision course to face each other next.

It has been reported in recent weeks that WBO super-lightweight world champion Lopez will make the latest defence of his crown against fellow countryman and reigning WBC lightweight champion Stevenson next.

Lopez made his latest ring appearance back in May when he defeated mandatory challenger Arnold Barboza Jr via unanimous decision in their historic clash at the iconic Times Square in New York City.

As for Stevenson, the 28-year-old from Newark made the third successful defence of his WBC lightweight crown against Mexico’s previously unbeaten William Zepeda on July 12 when they fought at the Louis Armstrong Stadium.

One fighter who has shared the ring with Lopez in recent years is Jamaine Ortiz, who was beaten by ‘The Takeover’ when he challenged him for his WBO super-lightweight title back in February 2024.

Speaking to Fight Hype, Ortiz made no mistake in backing Stevenson to get the job done over Lopez, as he claims the WBC lightweight champion should ‘win easily’.

“I think Shakur would win, yeah, we know Shakur is a great boxer and we just seen what I did to Teofimo so I think Shakur will be able to box him out easily.”

Stevenson has emerged as one of the sport’s brightest talents since his professional debut back in 2017. The 28-year-old has captured world titles in three weight classes up until this point, racking up victories over the likes of Oscar Valdez, Jamel Herring and Robson Conceicao to name just a few.

He will have his sights set on adding yet another big name to his resume should his planned showdown with Lopez come to fruition next.
