Floyd Mayweather Reveals ‘Talks’ To Put Unbeaten Record On The Line In Professional Comeback Fight

Floyd Mayweather could be on the verge of making a sensational return to the ring despite being away from the professional side of the sport for eight years.

The 48-year-old Michigan-native proved himself to be, in the eyes of many, one of the greatest fighters of all time throughout the course of his accomplished professional career, where he became a five-division world champion between 1996 and 2017.

‘Money’ Mayweather remains one of the few great champions to retire from the sport with an unbeaten record to his name, defeating the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao amongst many others.

He finally called time on his career back in 2017, just a short while after he stopped UFC legend Conor McGregor in the 10th round of their monumental crossover showdown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Mayweather has made a number of returns to the ring since exiting the paid ranks however, facing the likes of Logan Paul, Tenshin Nasukawa and Aaron Chalmers in exhibition contests in the last few years.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, he was asked if there was a possibility that he could return to the ring as a professional at some stage in the near future, as he gears up to face heavyweight legend Mike Tyson in an exhibition.

“That’s on the table, it’s been talks, it’s possible … But as of right now everything is going great, I feel good, working hard each and every day and I can’t wait for 2026.”

It was revealed earlier this month that Mayweather would face former undisputed heavyweight champion ‘Iron Mike’ next, with full details of their scheduled exhibition clash set to be announced soon.

A potential pro return could focus on a rematch with Pacquiao, who himself made a comeback this year to challenge for the welterweight world title.
