George Foreman Named The Top 5 Heavyweights Of All Time And Muhammad Ali Was Number 2

If there was ever one man qualified to rank the all-time greats of the heavyweight division, it was the late-great George Foreman.

Known for having extraordinary punching power, Foreman is widely considered to be one of the greatest heavyweights to have ever laced up a pair of gloves.

The Texas-native became the world heavyweight champion on two occasions during his storied career which began back in 1969 after his success at the Olympic Games in Mexico City.

‘Big George’ captured world honours for the first time in January of 1973 when he stopped countryman Joe Frazier in the second round of their showdown at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

Fast forward 21 years and Foreman found himself at the pinnacle of the heavyweight division once again, stopping Michael Moorer in the eighth round of their bout to unify the WBA and IBF titles and become the oldest heavyweight champion of all time.

In a resurfaced social media post, Foreman revealed the five fighters that he believed were the greatest heavyweights of all time, naming none other than Joe Louis at number 1 on his list.

“Top 5. Heavyweights; I could change my list every year. But always with Joe Louis at # 1. I liked Jack Johnson, Marciano & Ali. Holyfield. But can change anytime after watching film.”

Louis dominated the heavyweight division during the peak of his career, earning himself the right to be regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights in boxing history.

‘The Brown Bomber’ held the world heavyweight championship for twelve years between 1937 and 1949, making 25 successful defences of his crown during this period.
