George Foreman Names The Only Current Fighter He Would Avoid At All Costs: “He’s A Giant”

George Foreman is one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.

‘Big George’ won an Olympic gold medal in Mexico City in 1968, and then quickly became a huge force in the professional ranks.

He won the world heavyweight title at the age of 24 with a sensational second round knockout of previously unbeaten Joe Frazier in 1973, and then defended his belt on two occasions.

He lost his title in the iconic Rumble in the Jungle to Muhammad Ali in 1974, before Foreman then initially retired from the sport in 1977.

After a decade away, ‘Big George’ returned and went on to win the world heavyweight title again in 1994. At 46 years and 169 days old, he was the oldest world heavyweight champion of all time.

Having competed alongside some of the best heavyweights ever, Foreman has now revealed to Greatest Hits Radio the one current heavyweight he would not want to have shared the ring with.

“Some of the great giants like Tyson Fury – I sure wouldn’t want to fight him.

No, no no, there are some big old tough guys out there, I’m just glad they weren’t in my lifetime of boxing.”

Fury suffered his first career defeat at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk back in May, losing out on a split decision after a close back and forth encounter where both men had periods of success. ‘The Gypsy King’ is currently preparing for the rematch against the Ukrainian on December 21 in Saudi Arabia where the WBC, WBO and WBA belts will be on the line.
