George Foreman Didn’t Hesitate When Asked To Name The Most Skilful Boxer Of All Time

George Foreman will forever be in the history books as one of the most legendary heavyweights of all time.

Foreman still holds the record for being the oldest man ever to win the world heavyweight title. He did so at age 45 by knocking out Michael Moorer with one of his famously heavy punches, despite coming off the back of a ten-year lay-off in which he became a born-again Christian and ordained minister.

Before then Foreman had plenty of famous nights including beating then-undefeated champion Joe Frazier by second-round knockout.

After that, he defended the belt twice before going into the epic ‘Rumble in the Jungle ‘with Muhammad Ali. It was a heated back and forth in which Ali employed his famous rope-a-dope tactic and managed to win by stoppage late in the eighth round.

Speaking to DAZN, Foreman was asked to pick out the most skilled fighter to ever box and went with fellow heavyweight Joe Louis.

“The most skilful boxer of all time would be Joe Louis. A lot of people say Sugar Ray Robinson but Joe Louis, he’d hit you with one shot you’d be assured to be hit with three more.”

Nicknamed ‘The Brown Bomber’, Louis reigned as world champion from 1937 until 1949, made 25 title defences and has the longest single reign as champion in all of boxing history.
