Former WBC super middleweight champion Markus Beyer passed away today in Berlin, Germany, at the age of just 47.
It is believed the former two time Olympian, who had a record of 35-3-1-(13), and won the WBC title three times- passed away in a Berlin Hospital after a short but severe battle with cancer.
His long time trainer Ulli Wegner has been quoted as saying: “I cannot describe my feelings with words.
“Everybody knows that he was my favourite athlete and had, above all, a human component. Markus Beyer was a thoroughly fine human being.”
