Former Heavyweight Champion Warns ‘It’ll Be Hard To Watch’ Mike Tyson Fight Jake Paul: “He’s 58”

Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson is one of the most controversial bouts of recent times.

It will be a fully sanctioned professional contest with no headguards between two very different men. One is a former undisputed heavyweight world champion who once knocked out 19 opponents in a row within the first six rounds despite being a teenager when he first began his career.

The other is a 27-year-old who has fought just 11 times. Although he has won them all but one and stopped the majority of those opponents, many were either inexperienced boxers or MMA fighters so haven’t been great preparation for someone like ‘Iron’ Mike.

Former WBO world champion Joseph Parker was recently asked by Fight Hub how the fight will go and said the age gap will make the clash ‘hard to watch’.

“Listen I’m all for boxing and I’m all for big fights but Mike Tyson is a legend.

No matter how great he was in the past with the ferocious style that he had and punches he would throw and knocking everyone out but 58 years old is old for a fighter. Jake Paul has youth on his side and with each fight he is getting better and better so it will be a hard fight to watch.

If Mike comes out and knocks him out, we’ll be like… The power is the last thing to go, but at 58 years old how much power is left? We see short clips but we’re not sure what happens before and after these clips. We’ll see.”

Parker is in fine form himself having beaten Zhilei Zhang on points in his last fight, and before that doing the same to the fearsome American puncher Deontay Wilder. He could well be next out in December in a rematch with Zhang.
