There are not many boxers queueing up to face the fast-rising young heavyweight, Moses Itauma.

The 20-year-old has struggled to find an opponent since knocking out Dillian Whyte inside two minutes in their contest back in August. That was his 13th bout, 11th stoppage win and 9th victory inside the first two rounds.

Since then, a number of fighters have either turned down the opportunity or asked for mega money, while an order to face WBA Regular Champion Kubrat Pulev was also pulled when the Bulgarian was granted permission to fight Murat Gassiev instead.

The young Brit would ideally get rounds under his belt against a durable and experienced for, and he may have found his answer.

Following his KO loss to Fabio Wardley back in October, former WBO ruler Joseph Parker said on The Ariel Helwani Show that said he would be keen to take on Itauma.

“Moses is a young, talented, explosive, fast heavyweight. It would be a pleasure to share the ring with someone like that.”

Parker has a history of going from big fight to big fight and has never shied away from anyone. Back in December 2023 he beat Deontay Wilder on points and then went straight into a match with another giant in Zhilei Zhang. The New Zealander survived two knockdowns to win that before knocking out Martin Bakole and then going on to take on Wardley. The big-punching Brit, trained the same man as Itauma, ended the win streak.

A showdown with Itauma would be great for the fans and the stiff test many want the young Brit to have as he continues to build towards world title level. However, the timelines may not line up well.l given Parker’s recent, and bruising, defeat. An announcement on Itauma’s next steps is expected in the coming weeks.
