A two-time world heavyweight champion has shared his verdict on the controversial match-up between Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul.
It had initially been expected that Davis would face Lamont Roach Jr in their much anticipated rematch next, after their controversial first meeting back in March ended in a draw, but this fight fell through after ‘Tank’ instead opted to face ‘The Problem Child.’
Paul made his most recent ring appearance back in June when he defeated former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their cruiserweight bout in Anaheim, California.
‘The Problem Child’ was also in negotiations for a sensational clash with former unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, but these plans were shelved in favour of the clash with Davis.
Two-time heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman has now weighed in with his take on the upcoming clash, as speaking on B4 Champ he made no mistake in predicting an emphatic stoppage victory for ‘Tank’ Davis when he shares the ring with Paul later on this year.
“I think Tank gonna knock him out.
“So I’m just telling you, don’t be surprised if Jake lands flat out.”
Paul’s decision to face Davis next has been met with criticism from a large majority of the boxing world, keeping in mind that the unbeaten lightweight champion stands at eight inches shorter than his fellow countryman and weighed in at a whopping 60 pounds lighter than ‘The Problem Child’ ahead of his March clash with Lamont Roach in March.
