A former long-reigning world heavyweight champion has expressed an interest in facing Mike Tyson .
‘Iron Mike’ looks set to share the ring with five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr in an exhibition bout next after the former undisputed heavyweight champion released a posted across his social media pages earlier this month.
Tyson made a shock return to the ring last November as he suffered a unanimous decision defeat to former Youtuber Jake Paul at the conclusion of their controversial eight round heavyweight bout at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.
‘Money’ Mayweather made his exit from the paid ranks back in 2017 after he got the better of MMA great Conor McGregor in their crossover clash, but the 48-year-old Michigan-native has returned to the ring on a number of occasions since then, facing the likes of Logan Paul and Aaron Chalmers in exhibition bouts.
In a shock statement made by former WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder whilst speaking to Fight Hype, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ claimed that he would like to face fellow countryman Tyson, as he sends a final message to the 59-year-old.
“Let’s get it on!”
Wilder made his return to the ring back in June when he stopped countryman Tyrrell Anthony Herndon in the 7th round of their non-title bout at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas.
The 39-year-old from Alabama is reportedly in discussions to face hard-hitting former UFC superstar Francis Ngannou next, as he looks to get back on track for a potential shot at a version of the world heavyweight title in the near future.
