After losing his first-ever professional fight in May, many in boxing believe Tyson Fury can turn things around in the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

The Brit surrendered his WBC world title to Usyk in a superb undisputed heavyweight contest, the first of its kind in 25 years. The back-and-forth battle saw both men have periods of success, though Fury was the one most notably hurt when he was sent spinning around the ring from a big flurry from the Ukrainian in the ninth.

Former opponent Otto Wallin famously pushed Fury hard in 2019 when he inflicted a bad cut and could well have stopped his man, but instead lost on points.

Speaking to Seconds Out, the Swede was asked about what might change if anything in the rematch between ‘The Gypsy King’ and Usyk which is scheduled for December and claimed his former foe will focus more on the body.

“It’s tough to say. I think that Fury looked really good in that fight, he looked his best, and the same with Usyk so it will be interesting. I think both guys will learn from it and probably get better. If Fury didn’t get hurt like that I think he would have won the fight but he did get hurt and Usyk did it and he deserved it so there’s not much you can say about it.

[The rematch will be] maybe more of the same, Fury targeting the body of Usyk more, that was working for him. It will be really interesting to see the rematch. This fight was close, Usyk won by one point, so the fight could go either way.”

Finally, he was asked to pick a winner and sided with his former foe.

“You know what, I want to say Fury again.”

The pair run it back on December 21.
