British heavyweight legend Frank Bruno has shared his final thoughts on the upcoming rematch between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn.
The domestic rivals are set to lock horns once again on Saturday night, just under seven months on from their thrilling encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on London.
Former WBA interim middleweight champion Eubank walked away victorious that night, defeating Benn via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their 12-round middleweight bout, which many have described as ‘The Fight Of The Year’.
It has been yet another entertaining build-up to the highly anticipated rematch between the British duo, with both fighters sending a number of jibes to each other during the fight week proceedings.
Speaking on Clubhouse Boxing, former world heavyweight champion Bruno shared his thoughts on the rematch between the domestic rivals as he claims Eubank is a ‘very good fighter’, hinting that he is backing the 36-year-old to prevail once again.
“I really don’t know against Conor Benn, you know what I mean? But Eubank, he’s a good fighter, very, very good fighter. A better fighter than people give him credit for and he’s a workhorse, I think he’s getting better.”
Whilst it has been speculated that there could be a trilogy bout on the horizon if Benn does get his revenge, both fighters appear to have suggested that they will be going their separate ways after the rematch.
Eubank has been linked with a future clash against Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez, whilst Benn has set his sights on making a return to the welterweight division to challenge one of the current world title holders.
