It seems like the whole boxing world is keen for Tyson Fury to come out of retirement and face Anthony Joshua, including Frank Bruno.

Fury is currently enjoying life away from boxing and occasionally posting social media updates to that effect. He announced he was retiring from the sport back in January, just weeks after a second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk – the only two losses of his career. Usyk had already twice beaten Joshua at that point and became the undisputed champion with his first win over ‘The Gyspy King’.

This is not the first time Fury has retired, so there is precedent for him to change his mind and return to the ring, something many believe it is only a matter of time until he does.

Meanwhile, ‘AJ’ rebuilt after his losses to the Ukrainian with four wins, including three impressive knockouts of Otto Wallin, Robert Helenius and Francis Ngannou, before then being halted in emphatic fashion by IBF champion Daniel Dubois.

Speaking to iFL TV, beloved former heavyweight champion Bruno sided with ‘The Gypsy King’ if the two men do manage to get it on, which would like be at some point in 2026 as both men creep towards 40 years of age.

“I think Fury, you know. For some strange reason he’ll get himself together, pull himself together, and the weight that he’s got amongst other ones, use that all.”

Joshua is currently on the sidelines having had minor elbow surgery. His promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested he will be back later this year against the likes of Deontay Wilder, should Wilder come through his ring return this month against Tyrell Herndon.
