Promoter Frank Warren has addressed the proposed location of the long-awaited showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

The all-British heavyweight clash has been years in the making. Both men have enjoyed multiple reigns as world champion over the last decade and, despite regularly being linked to one another, have never managed to settle their rivalry inside the ring.

Neither fighter currently holds a world title, with both having lost their belts to Oleksandr Usyk over the course of the last few years.

After taking a year away from the sport, Fury returned to action in April with a victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov, putting him on course for the long-awaited meeting with Joshua.

While many fans would like to see the fight staged in the UK, recent reports have suggested the United States is emerging as the frontrunner to host the event.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Fury’s promoter Warren admitted he would love to see the fight take place on home soil, but stressed that no final decision has been made.

“I hear what you’re saying, but the decision has not been made yet. When the decision has been made you will know.

“Who makes the decision? The people that put the money up. That’s what it’s been like for the last three fights.

“It would be lovely to be in Britain, I’d love to see it in Britain. No decision has been made but of course it would be great to have it in the UK, why not? They’re two Brits.”

Before the fight can be officially announced, Joshua must first come through his scheduled comeback bout against Kristian Prenga in July.
