Veteran promoter Frank Warren thinks one man stands proud as his best fighter of 2025.

The Queensberry Boxing boss has been involved in the sport for decades and has worked with plenty of big names, from Joe Calzaghe and Frank Bruno to Tyson Fury and now fast-rising star Moses Itauma.

Speaking to iFL TV, Warren picked a breakout British talent from his stable as the year’s best performer.

It’s very difficult asking me that. I’ve got to think the guy looking at where he’s come from and where he’s gone has got to be Fabio [Wardley.] No amateur experience and he’s world champion and on a bona fide basis.

“He beat a guy who is number two to Usyk and was a big favourite going into that fight so I think he had a tremendous year. Again, the Justis Huni fight, he done brilliantly and I take my hat off to him. It’s an amazing journey.”

Warren’s pick is a fair one, as after a draw then a first round KO of fellow Brit Frazer Clarke in 2024, Wardley fought twice in 2025, firstly going from behind on the cards to stop Justis Huni and then doing similar against Joseph Parker in October.

Shortly after that WBO eliminator, belt holder Oleksandr Usyk vacated his strap rather than face his mandatory so Wardley was promoted to full champion.

He is looking to make a first defence in 2026 with the likes of Daniel Dubois, Moses Itauma, Anthony Joshua and Lawrence Okolie all having been named as potential opponents for some time around April.
