Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn will step through the ropes this month over two years on from their original fight date.
The pair were set to continue a fighting rivalry started by their fathers back in the nineties before it was discovered Benn had tested positive for a banned substance.
With his suspension lifted late last year and a National Anti-Doping Panel ruling that he can fight on home soil once more, the fight has now been rescheduled and opinion is split as to who will have their hand raised.
Will 28-year-old Benn have the ferocity to move up two weight classes from his natural limit to stop the once so durable Eubank? Or will Eubank, 35, prove that size and experience matters most?
On Carl Froch’s YouTube channel in late 2023, he put it to Tony Bellew that the bigger man will win.
“Chris Eubank beats Conor Benn, agree or disagree?”
Bellew went the other way, backing the ‘explosive’ Benn,
“Disagree. He’s a big lad but we need to see Conor back first in a normal fight and see how the years have affected him … [He’s] too quick, too explosive. I just think he beats him … Explosive, powerful, quick. Conor Benn is one of those, you’re probably going to have to knock him out. He’s going out on his shield”
Fans will find out who is right come April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, provided the fighters make it to the ring this time around.
