Former super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch has picked a winner in a fantasy fight between two modern-day boxing legends, Floyd Mayweather and Terence Crawford.
American duo Mayweather and Crawford are two of the most accomplished and respected figures in boxing. Mayweather famously retired with an undefeated record of 50-0 having picked up championships across five weight classes.
He was involved with some of the most high-profile and richest bouts in the sport, including with the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez before retiring in 2017 aged 40.
Crawford, who is 37 and has won all 42 of his fights so far, has become a four-weight world champion and is currently preparing for a much-anticipated super-fight against Canelo. He has also been undisputed in two divisions, super-lightweight and welterweight, and beaten the likes of Errol Spence, Shawn Porter, Kell Brook and Amir Khan so far.
His fight with Canelo will see the former lightweight move up a further two divisions, all the way up to super middleweight, to challenge for the undisputed championship in Las Vegas in September this year.
In a round of winner stays on via his own Froch on Fighting YouTube channel, ‘The Cobra’ had to pick between prime Mayweather and Crawford.
“It’s got to be Mayweather.”
Mayweather has his own views on the contest between Canelo and Crawford and recently said that Canelo was an easy win for him, despite his own advancing age when the pair fought, and that he backs ‘Bud’ to come out on top when they square off.
