Carl Froch has discussed whether or not it will be him who steps in as a late replacement for Gervonta Davis to fight Jake Paul later in November.
Paul had been due to fight three-weight world champion Davis until the Baltimore boxer once again found himself in legal trouble, after facing a new civil lawsuit over domestic allegations.
That fight now looks unlikely to happen for Paul who has had 13 contests so far and won them all bar one loss to Tommy Fury, and has beaten the likes of Mike Tyson and Julio Ceaser Chavez Jr.
One man who has been linked to Paul over the years is former super-middleweight world champion Froch, who last competed professionally over a decade ago in 2014.
Speaking on his own YouTube channel, Froch answered whether or not he thinks Paul’s team would reach out.
“No, they won’t. Because they know it’s not even a round, One round with me, with those little 10 oz gloves on, it’s fu**ing game over for Jake Paul. His whole clown show will fall apart.
“I posted a picture of myself on Instagram looking in great shape, I’m not bragging, but I keep myself in shape. I punch that bag for half an hour, I’m still feeling great. He can see it and even at 12 days’ notice this would be a complete and utter mismatch, because he cannot fight.”
Instead, it is former MMA star Nate Diaz who is rumoured to have been one of the names in the frame to be a late stand in. Diaz already lost to Paul in a 2023 boxing match that ended with a unanimous points decision to ‘The Problem Child.’
