Carl Froch Delivers Verdict On If Either Joshua Or Fury Can Beat Itauma

Carl Froch has had his say on whether he believes either Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are capable of defeating the highly-rated Moses Itauma.

Itauma is widely considered to be one of the most exciting prospects in boxing and has set the heavyweight division alight since making his professional debut back in January of 2023.

The 21-year-old from Kent made his highly-anticipated return to the ring last month when he stopped durable American heavyweight Jermaine Franklin in the fifth round of their showdown at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester.

Itauma has already been dubbed as the future of British heavyweight boxing with many believing that the unbeaten star will fill the shoes of both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua when the duo announce their respective retirements.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, British boxing legend Froch didn’t hesitate to back Itauma in potential bouts against both Fury and Joshua as he admits the 21-year-old is capable of beating both men.

“So if you’re looking at the levels of opponents and where he could go, I just think he absolutely obliterates all of them. I think he beats all of them fighters.

“I think he beats AJ, AJ’s not fought for ages, he’s been done himself a couple of times. The only one left that you could mention there is Tyson Fury.

“Tyson Fury is well past his best. Moses Itauma, Tyson Fury, who you got? I gotta say Moses Itauma. Young, fresh, fast, solid, can punch.”

Itauma is in line to make his return to the ring this July with reports suggesting that the 21-year-old will headline a show in London as he looks to move even closer towards fighting for a world title this year.
