Carl Froch has analysed what might happen when Dmitry Bivol rematches Artur Beterbiev this Saturday.

These two light heavyweight talents last fought back in October for the undisputed title. Bivol. who famously beat Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez back in 2022, started well and in typical fashion was the slicker boxer with the better feet and tighter defences.

However, Beterbiev who had knocked out all 21 of the men he had faced up to Bivol including the likes of Anthony Yarde, Callum Smith and Callum Johnson, rallied and got a foothold in the second half of the fight.

He landed more and more heavy shots and did enough to take a narrow majority decision win at the conclusion of the 12 rounds.

The pair do it all again now and speaking on his own Froch on Fighting, ‘The Cobra’ narrowly sided with the current champion.

“I just think in this one Bivol needs to be busier, he needs to concentrate even more, concentrate for longer.

“If he’s going to win it’s only going to be points and he’s going to have to be busy and effective and be really really strong defensively, really cute defensively, I’m not sure he can do it. It’s going to be another close fight, 50-50, pick em match.

“I think Artur Beterbiev probably gets a little bit closer a little bit earlier. I don’t think he’ll get him out of there but the eye-catching shots are the ones that always catch the judge’s eye. I think Beterbiev is a slight favourite in a fight that could go either way.”

Also fighting on the card are British light heavyweights Joshua Buatsi and Callum Smith with the winner hoping to get their shot at whoever comes out with all four of the world titles after the main event.
